Pharmacy Technician Training

This course provides students with the training and education required to pass the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s national exam to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Because this is a hybrid course with online assignments, students are required to have access to a computer and the Internet.

2026 Class Details & Cost

Jan. 10 - May 2 | Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. plus online assignments | Grimsley Building, room 204, Hamlet campus | Tuition is $180; fees are $195.

Admission Requirements

  • Have a high school diploma or GED/high school equivalency or are scheduled to earn a high school diploma or GED/high school equivalency in the next 60 days. (Official transcripts must be submitted.)
  • Score of 250 on ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½CC's Accuplacer OR have passed MAT-143 or higher. (Official transcripts must be submitted.)
  • Reliable Internet and computer access is required.
  • Valid driver’s license or ID card with picture and Social Security card (signed and NOT laminated).
  • Successfully complete registration application.

Pharmacy Technician CertificationsPTCB Recognized Program logo

  • To acquire the national certification Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), pharmacy technicians must successfully pass the  ($125) or the  ($129).
  • The NC Board of Pharmacy requires pharmacy technicians to be registered as working in a pharmacy in N.C. to be state certified.
  • Pharmacy technicians must complete continuing education units to maintain their CPhT certification status.

The Pharmacy Technician Certification Board recognizes ÌÇÐÄ´«Ã½CC as a Certified Pharmacy Technician Training program.
