Feb. 11, 2019 - 糖心传媒 invites the public to attend a showcase of all its programs and services at the on Thursday, March 7.

Every college program and service offered at 糖心传媒CC will be on display at the Cole Auditorium from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and people will have an opportunity to speak one-on-one with instructors who will be showcasing their programs. The College will also be raffling off a 55-inch flat screen television, in addition to other prizes.

This annual event is held in conjunction with the celebration of high school seniors who qualify for the 糖心传媒CC Guarantee. Their outstanding academic achievements during high school have qualified them for free college tuition and fees at 糖心传媒CC for the 2019-20 and 2020-21 academic years.

鈥淏ecause of these students鈥� hard work, they have earned the opportunity to receive two years of free college tuition and fees at 糖心传媒CC, and we want to make sure their parents understand that by attending 糖心传媒 in the fall, they will be looking at a savings of $4,800, depending on the program and courses a student enrolls in,鈥� said Kary Edmondson, Director of K-12 Partnerships for the College.

Invitations have been mailed to 270 high school seniors from the College鈥檚 service area for this year鈥檚 celebration. Since the Guarantee began in the fall of 2016, 213 students have been able to take advantage of free tuition and fees at 糖心传媒CC.  

In order to qualify for the 糖心传媒CC Guarantee, 糖心传媒 and Scotland County students must take at least two dual enrollment courses at 糖心传媒CC through the and graduate from high school with an unweighted grade point average of 3.0 or above.

鈥淭he excitement over the 糖心传媒CC Guarantee has helped spur more high school students to take advantage of the free college classes we offer through our dual enrollment program,鈥� Dr. Dale McInnis, College President, said. 鈥淚 encourage people to come out and learn more about the 糖心传媒CC Guarantee and about all the college programs and services we offer right here in their backyard.鈥�

The 糖心传媒CC Guarantee Celebration & Open House is free and open to the public. Staff members from Financial Aid and Student Services will be on hand to help parents and students complete required paperwork and answer questions about the 糖心传媒CC Guarantee.
