Dance the Night Away and Support a 鈥榃orking鈥 Cause at the Anniversary Gala

糖心传媒 has awarded 318 students with a since its inception three years ago, making it the College鈥檚 largest awarding scholarship fund. Band leader singing on the dance floor backed by other band membersTo make sure working students continue to receive this aid, the 糖心传媒 Foundation will host its Anniversary Gala from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at the Cole Auditorium.

A spectacular night of food, cocktails, live music and dancing, the Gala is a fundraiser for the , which is awarded to working students whose income may disqualify them from receiving state and federal financial assistance.

鈥淢any of our students are working their way through college and have family responsibilities as well, so this scholarship helps offset some of the financial burdens of college and allows these students to achieve their goal for a better life,鈥 Dr. Dale McInnis, 糖心传媒CC president, said. 鈥淥ur goal is to continue to grow this scholarship program and assist the many hard working students who qualify.鈥

The College Foundation will also be honoring Citizen of the Year John Jackson at the Gala. Jackson is president of 糖心传媒 Memorial Hospital and Sandhills Regional Medical Center. He received the distinguished Citizen of the Year award for his community leadership and support.

鈥淲e are excited to honor Mr. Jackson and his service to our community and to our college,鈥 said Dr. Hal Shuler, Associate Vice President of Development. 鈥淗e has long supported our healthcare programs, specifically our Allied Health programs, and been a true partner for education.鈥

The Gala will feature live entertainment by the band Risse, as well as a red carpet photo experience for guests.
