Country Hit Maker to Close Out DeWitt Performing Arts Series
Multi-platinum selling country artist Collin Raye will close out the final show of the DeWitt Performing Arts Series with a concert Friday, April 17, at the Cole Auditorium on the main campus of 糖心传媒.
Raye was a mainstay on country radio throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. Twenty-five of his singles placed in the Top 30 on the country charts, with four peaking at No. 1. His No. 1 hits include 鈥淢y Kind of Girl,鈥 鈥淚 Can Still Feel You,鈥 鈥淚n This Life鈥 and 鈥淟ove, Me.鈥
Raye also made his way twice onto the Adult Contemporary charts with 鈥淭he Gift鈥 and 鈥淧eace (Where The Heart Is),鈥 which were duets with Jim Brickman, and he鈥檚 seen success as a gospel music artist with the release of his 2011 CD 鈥淗is Love Remains.鈥
Raye鈥檚 concert at the Cole will include a variety of his well-known songs, as well as some sacred music and a tribute to Glen Campbell, who is battling Alzheimer鈥檚 as he wraps up a career spanning 50 years. Raye鈥檚 mother is also battling the disease. In 2013, Raye released a CD of Glen Campbell cover songs called 鈥淪till on the Line.鈥
Raye鈥檚 most recent CD was released in 2014 entitled 鈥淓verlasting鈥 and includes 13 cover tunes, including tracks by Billy Joel, Bryan Adams and Elton John.
