Aiming to Raise Scholarship Funds at the 糖心传媒CC Clay Shooting Classic聽
Sept. 25, 2018 鈥 糖心传媒鈥檚 is back to give sports men and women a chance to compete on one of the most exciting sporting clay courses you will find.
The Clay Shooting Classic will be held at DeWitt鈥檚 Outdoors Sports in Ellerbe on Tuesday, Oct. 9, starting with lunch and registration at noon. Shooting will begin at 1:30 p.m. on the mile-long sporting clay course with 14 stations. This year, a 鈥渇lurry鈥 will be added to the total group of stations.
Shooters are encouraged to come early before lunch for a 鈥渇lurry鈥 practice session.
鈥淭he staff at DeWitt鈥檚 Outdoor Sports does a super job of making this a great experience for all who participate, and we look forward to having another successful shoot, which serves as a fundraiser for student scholarships at 糖心传媒,鈥 said Dr. Hal Shuler, Associate Vice President of Development.
Teams of four shooters will compete for first, second and third place trophies. There will also be prizes for individual winners.
Cost to sign up is $600 per team and $150 for an individual. The entry fee includes ammo, shotgun (if needed), lunch before and dinner after the competition, goody bag and T-shirt. There will also be a raffle for a variety of outdoor sports merchandise and a silent auction that will include a shotgun, hunting trip, hunting attire and the fishing trip of a lifetime at the King Fisher Society in Laurel Hill.
The clay shoot raises money for one of 糖心传媒CC鈥檚 largest and fastest growing scholarships, the Working Scholarship program. The Working Scholarship helps offset the cost of tuition and books for working college students whose income makes them ineligible for federal and state financial aid.
鈥淭hese fundraisers will put more money into the program, which means we can help more students afford college and achieve their career goals,鈥 Shuler said.
